Niccolò is an architect and researcher.
Expert in computational design, digital fabrication and visual rendering.
He studied at the Universita’ degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza and he took a Master of Advanced Architecture in Digital Tectonics / Fabrication Ecologies under the tutelage of Ecologic Studio at IAAC, Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonya in Barcelona. Subsequently he specialized in parametric design and the use of new technologies in architecture.
In his career he worked for international firms in London, Rome and Barcelona such as FUKSAS, CLOUD9, KGA architecture, IJP Corporation, Writing Extended Explanations, Built by Associative Data, iBase and Scape Roma-ParallelDigital-It's.
Niccolò ’s ongoing research is divided in 3 different platforms:
Strata-e is an atelier based on the relations between architecture, computing, digital fabrication and craftwork.
Tropos is a laboratory with laser scanner, 3d printers, laser cutter and milling machine.
m-i-r-a is an office of architecture based in Barcelona.

He studied at the Universita’ degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza at Valle Giulia Faculty, where he graduated in 2008 with a dissertation on ARS_EN_HOUSE UN NUOVO PAESAGGIO D’ACQUA Military and Marittime Dockyard development and new design , La Maddalena Island, Italy. In his last university year, he started working for IBASE Studio in Rome.
In 2008, after this experience, he moved to London and had the opportunity to work for KGA architecture and also to collaborate with IJP corporation both firms linked to the Architectural Association and to the Graduate School of Design of Harvard. He managed preliminary design, building permits and tender phases for projects to be developed in London in collaboration with engineers like Adams Kara Taylor and ARUP.
In 2010 he moved back to Rome where he successfully passed the Qualifying Examination and started to work for Studio FUKSAS where he managed international projects. While working he also did freelance works for Writing Extended Explanations studio. In 2012 - 2013 he moved to Barcelona and he had the Master in Advanced Architecture at IaaC - Institute for advanced architecture of Catalonia - in Digital Tectonics / Fabrication Ecologies with Ecologic Studio and he has been specializing in in the use of parametric modelling and rendering software such as Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, 3D Studio Max , V Ray, Maya, Arduino, Ecotect and Processing.
After the Master he worked for BAD Built by Associative Data where he followed a series of projects linked by a strong parametric approach. In 2014 - 2015 he took the position of project leader in Cloud 9 for Ampo India, Factory of the Future. He lead Energy Attack team in Barcelona and Coimbatore from the concept design phase until the executive and tender phase for the construction of the building in India.
In 2015 Niccolò open his studio in Rome. Strata-e ( www.strata-e.com ) is an atelier based on the relations between different layers: architecture, computing, digital fabrication and craftwork.
In 2016 with Sofoklis Giannakopoulos founded Tropos ( www.tropo-s.com ) a laboratory with 3D printing, 3D scanning, cnc milling machine and laser cutter that develops a process based design methodology built on a fascination for the tool, combining interests for traditional craft and digital means of conception and manufacturing.
In the same year he started a collaboration as computational design specialist with Scape Roma, Parallel Digital and IT’S.
From 2017 he is part of m-i-r-a ( www.m-i-r-a.com ) office of architecture based in Barcelona.
